You found a good deal on a camera kit and it is still in the box. We will put it up properly, with real cable and the app working on your phone.
For $490 we mount and cable a basic wired kit on a single storey home with roof access. That includes Cat6 cable cut to length with proper RJ45 ends, connecting the recorder to the network and to a TV or monitor if you want one, and installing the app on your household’s phones. The quote itemises anything beyond that, such as extra cameras, a second storey or a long run to a shed.
Our cabling and workmanship are covered by our warranty. The cameras and recorder remain under the manufacturer’s warranty, so a faulty camera goes back to where you bought it.
Send through the brand and model, or a photo of the box and the cameras. A few minutes of checking avoids surprises on the day.
Wired kits are the simplest. The cable carries power and video, and the recorder does the recording.
Wi-Fi kits need power at each camera and a good Wi-Fi signal. Logan’s brick homes can weaken the signal at the far ends of the house, so the signal gets tested at each spot.
Battery cameras need nothing but a bracket, though they have to be taken down to charge and they only record when something moves.
Some kits only work with the maker’s own cloud app. We can mount them and get the picture right, but software faults are for the maker to sort out.
A kit bought months ago that has never left the box. A half finished install with a couple of cameras up and cables hanging in the garage. Cameras mounted so high they only see the tops of heads. A kit that came with 18 metre leads when the far corner of the house is 25 metres from the cupboard. All of these are straightforward fixes.
Usually. A decent wired kit, installed properly with good cable and sensible camera positions, makes a solid home system. If a kit would cost more to make work than a better system would cost outright, we tell you and price both options so you can choose.
We supply Cat6 cable and connectors and include them in the price. The thin pre-made leads that come with many kits are often too short, so we usually replace them.
Yes, we can mount and power them and get them on your Wi-Fi. They depend on the brand's app and subscription, so features are limited to what the brand provides.
We can supply and fit a surveillance drive. Without a drive, most recorders cannot store footage.
